The 3rd most important email you'll send

Recently I said that the two most important emails you'll send are your new subscriber and your new customer welcome emails.

There's a 3rd vital email too - and this one gets way less attention. In fact, most people don't even send it.

It's the email or emails you send out after someone contacts you via your contact form or books a call with you.

Usually what happens is the person who's contacted you gets sent a token "thanks for contacting us" message (if anything at all). The first real interaction they get is when you reply in person or have your call with them,

But this is a huge wasted opportunity.

If someone has contacted you - and especially if they've booked a call, they're a great prospect. So make sure you've got your systems set up to treat them right even before you jump in personally.

If they've filled in your contact form, send them an email that tells them exactly what’s going to happen next. And give them bonus value in some way - maybe a link to your frequently asked questions or the top 5 articles on your site that people found most useful.

If they've booked a call with you email them a link to a video where you explain what's going to happen on the call and how they can prepare best to make the most of it. And make sure there are a couple of testimonial videos underneath your instructions that they can watch if they want.

These simple automated email follow-ups are a great way to quickly build credibility and trust with the high-potential prospects that have contacted you. They work to enhance your relationship before you ever interact with them personally.

They take an hour or so at most to set up but can have a big, big impact.

All it takes is a little bit of thinking to figure out what you want to achieve with these contacts and how to best do it.
