It’s probably an overused quote, but I’m going to mangle it one last time:
“A body at motion stays in motion; a body at rest stays at rest.”
- Sir Isaac Newton
My last email about using AI to generate topics for emails got a huge response.
Mainly from people who tried it.
I’ll be doing more on using AI to help with your writing soon, but today I want to explore why that email was so well received.
And I really do think it comes down to Newton’s first law.
If you’re at rest, staring at a blank sheet of paper, then it takes tremendous effort to get moving. To get something written.
Mostly it doesn’t happen.
But if you’re in motion, if you already have a first draft in front of you, it’s easy to keep going. To update and improve it.
And that’s what AI gives you. Momentum.
(I think that’s actually the second law of motion, but you know what I mean).
Once you have something in front of you, even if it’s just half decent, you’re in motion. You can keep going and finish it.
And these days AI does way better than half decent. There are topics it came up with for me that I recognise as being spot on, but I’d never have come up with myself.
AI is not the only way to get in motion. But it’s one that’s open to all of us if we’re willing to give it a go.
And the people who did give it a go got instant results - and let me know :)
